Dr. Ahmad Hayat is an Assistant Professor of Journalism and Media at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. A former international TV producer and Hollywood script analyst, Dr. Hayat produced the Kuwaiti docuseries The Judge Who Executed Saddam (2010) and the documentary film Kuwait The Light of The Eyes (2011) before serving as a script reader for Hollywood movie studios, Eclectic Pictures and The Hideaway Entertainment. His latest short film, Carving The Creative Vision, has won an award of excellence in BEA's Festival of Media Arts 2025. Dr. Hayat’s research focuses on the commissioning process of TV dramas with special interest in Arab and American programming. His research is published in prestigious academic journals, and he continues to investigate the storytelling procedures involved in the development of media products.
