Secure Communication and PKI lab
Secure Communication and PKI lab

School Project

Summary

This project demonstrated the design, deployment, and analysis of a secure communication infrastructure using PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), TLS, and SSH in a controlled environment. A Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) was implemented to issue server and client certificates, enabling mutual TLS (mTLS) authentication. The lab simulated a real-world enterprise environment where security configurations were hardened, traffic was captured and decrypted for validation, and controlled weaknesses were introduced to assess resilience.

Enterprise WAN simulation
Enterprise WAN simulation

Summary

The goal of this project was to design and implement an enterprise WAN topology that connects the Headquarters (HQ) of UBA to four branch offices. Each branch represents a physical office with its own staff, end devices, and internal LAN, while HQ serves as the central hub for communication and services. This type of hub-and-spoke WAN design is common in the banking sector, where the HQ acts as the central authority controlling information exchange and hosting centralized services such as DNS, file servers, and application servers.
