About

I am full professor and head of Division of Technology and Business Studies at the Dept. of Technology, Management and Economics, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). My research revolves around digitalization processes and the use of data in the public sector in Denmark and Nordic countries. I focus on how information infrastructures evolve and transform and on their societal consequences. As part of my research, I develop and use inventive analytical methods and techniques to be applied in and beyond academia. I am a member of the Society for the Social Studies of Science (4S), the European Association for the Social Studies of Science (EASST), and the Association for Anthropologists (Antropologforeningen). I am a founding member of the Danish Association for Science and Technology Studies (DASTS), which has 500+ members. I lead collaborative research projects on information infrastructures, data, digitalization, governance, and digital inclusion and supervise PhD students within these areas. I apply for and attract both excellence funding and applied funding. My projects always contain a basic social theory challenge and a societal challenge. I am an experienced research manager. I take great pleasure in driving and creating impact with research. This includes the development of researcher talent. I sit on scientific advisory boards in Denmark, Norway and Finland. I am co-author of 'Monitoring Movements in Development Aid: Recursive Infrastructures and Partnerships' (MIT Press, 2013) with Casper Bruun Jensen, co-editor of 'Electrifying Anthropology: Exploring Electrical Practices and Infrastructures' (Bloomsbury, 2019) with Simone Abram and Thomas Yarrow, 'Experimenting with Ethnography: A Companion to Analysis' (Duke University Press, 2021) with Andrea Ballestero, 'Handbook for the Anthropology of Technology' (Palgrave Handbook Series, 2021) with Maja Høyer Bruun el al, 'Energy Worlds in Experiment' with Laura Watts and James Maguire (Mattering Press, 2021), and 'Aktørnetværksteori i praksis with Irina Papazu (Djøf forlag, 2021).
