Elena Bellini

About

Elena Bellini completed her BA (2016) and MA (2019) in Philosophy at the University of Pisa. She graduated with a thesis in History of Ancient Scientific Thought titled "Ancient theories of respiration. From Homer to Aristotle" under the supervision of Prof. Maria Michela Sassi. In November 2020 she enters the RTG Philosophy, Science, and the Sciences at Humboldt-Universität of Berlin, where she is currently working on her PhD project concerning early Hellenistic theories of respiration under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Philip van der Eijk. She partook in several international conferences with contributions in the fields of Ancient Medicine, Ancient Philosophy, History of Ancient Science, and Queer Theories. Since 2021 she is co-organizer of the initiative Women* in Ancient Philosophy, with the aim of promoting the networking and collaboration among members of underrepresented minorities within academia.
