Frederik Booysen

About

Frikkie is a professor of economics at the University of the Witwatersrand. He holds the PPS Chair in Health Economics and is the co-founder of the Lelapa Consortium for research on Family Health and Development, a collaboration with the Institute for Global Health at University College London. His recent publications in this field include work on socio-economic status and family functioning and satisfaction with family life, family functioning and anti-retroviral treatment outcomes among people living with HIV and Aids, and a recent commentary on the role of family in addressing public health challenges in the context of growing deprivation and deepening poverty.
