About

I'm a (Full) Professor of the Language Sciences at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), Vila Real, Portugal. I'm a graduate in Teaching Humanities (Classical Studies) (1993) from the Faculty of Philosophy of Braga of the Catholic University of Portugal, and completed a Master's degree in Descriptive Portuguese Linguistics (1996) from the Faculty of Letters of the Porto University, and a PhD degree in Portuguese Linguistics (2003) and Habilitation / Aggregation in History of the Language Sciences (2009) from UTAD. I'm an Integrated Researcher and the Principal Investigator of the Center for Studies in Letters (CEL), in the thematic lines History of the Language Sciences and Missionary Linguistics.
