About

I’m Dr. Hilal Seda Yildiz—a passionate educator, EDI researcher, and learning designer working at the intersection of justice, technology, and inclusion. My work is rooted in lived experience. Coming from a background where women are often expected to stay silent, I’ve made it my mission to empower others—especially those whose voices are overlooked in traditional education systems. Currently, I serve as a Lecturer in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Arden University, where I lead initiatives on neurodiversity, refugee inclusion, and trauma-informed education. I co-chair Neurodiversity Network and chair the Migration and Diversity Research Community, spearhead our University of Sanctuary application, and develop inclusive training for staff and students across the institution. With over twelve years of experience in open and distance learning, I specialise in building accessible and engaging digital environments. My PhD focused on inclusive e-learning and learning analytics, and I continue to publish and present on educational technologies, inclusive pedagogy, and co-created learning spaces. I believe education should be a space of liberation and belonging. Whether through designing simulation-based programs, mentoring change-makers, or developing community-led events, I work to challenge the status quo and create systems that truly serve everyone.
