Huang Wu

Dr. Huang Wu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy and Foundations at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. With over a decade of experience in education, Dr. Wu has studied, worked, and conducted research across both K–12 and higher education institutions in China and the United States. His international and cross-cultural background offers a distinctive lens through which he examines global educational challenges and school practices. Dr. Wu’s research centers on educational leadership, equity, and program evaluation, with a strong focus on applying data science methods in educational contexts. His methodological expertise spans traditional quantitative approaches as well as machine learning techniques. He is particularly interested in how effective school leadership can enhance student learning outcomes and promote social justice within educational systems. Beyond empirical research, his scholarly interests also include theoretical and philosophical inquiries into the nature of education and equity, the foundations of quality teaching, and the role of schools in fostering these ideals. Dr. Wu serves on the Editorial Review Board of the International Journal of Educational Management and has reviewed manuscripts for more than twenty academic journals, including the American Educational Research Journal, British Educational Research Journal, Nature Human Behaviour, Review of Educational Research, and Educational Administration Quarterly, among others. He has been invited to deliver keynote addresses and lead seminars in his areas of expertise. He also has extensive experience conducting program evaluations.
