About
Lecturer at the Department of Geography at the University of Oviedo. Researcher attached to the Institute of Natural Resources and Territorial Planning (INDUROT), member of the accredited research group Legal-Social Studies on Territory and Sustainable Urban Development (GTDS) and of the Centro de Estudos de Geografia e Ordenamento do Território (CEGOT), a research unit formed by the Departments of Geography of the Universities of Porto and Coimbra (Portugal). Member of the management team of the 2030 Concepción Arenal Chair and collaborator of the applied research unit Observatorio del Territorio and the research group Intersecciones: Literatures, Cultures & Contemporary Theories, both at the University of Oviedo. His academic bakcground starts with a degree in Technical Engineer in Surveying (2007), Graduate in Geography and Regional Planning (2014) and Master in Territorial Resources and Planning Strategies (2015), PhD in Geography (2020) with the thesis: Recent landscape transformations in the periphery of Oviedo, supervised by Felipe Fernández García, International Mention and Extraordinary Doctorate Award. He has participated in several national research projects and also in research projects in collaboration with companies and public institutions. Editorial secretary of the journal Ería. He teaches on the Degree in Geography and Regional Planning, on the Degree in Civil Engineering and on the Degree in Geomatics Engineering, coordinating subjects related to Urban and Regional Planning. His work experience is complemented by his participation in several projects with companies such as the citizenship participation processes to propose alternatives to the accesses to the motorway and to Oviedo (2014) or the development of the urban area around the old HUCA in El Cristo-Buenavista (2017). He has also been part of drafting teams for planning instruments such as the Santander City Model 2055, the Special Plan for the Science-Technology Park of La Pecuaria in Gijón (2021), the General Development Plan of Mieres (in process) and the revision of the General Development Plan of Avilés for the definition of a new centrality (in process).
