About

I am archaeologist interested in human - environment relationship. In this research direction, I especially focus on two topics: humans and soils in the past - especially agricultural impact on soils - and the contamination of the environment by risk elements coming from past mining and smelting activities. As archaeologist, I tend to study medieval epoch, although my scope covers all human history and environmental archaeology. Methodically I work mainly with soils, landscape, written sources and geochemistry - mainly ED and WD XRF. I work with many types of software, preferably with R doing lot of exploratory and multivariate data analyses. I studied archaeology (2007) and physical geography (2010) at Charles university in Prague. I have PhD in Ecology (2016; Czech University of Life Sciences) and PhD in Archaeology (2018; Charles University). I was a project leader of “Geochemical insight into non-destructive archaeological research” (2019-2022, funded by Ministry of Education of Czechia, code LTC19016, sub-program INTERCOSR, program INTEREXCELENCE). I was a leader of a working group 3 (WG3: Data Integration, Parametrisation and Visualisation) of a cost action SAGA (2018-2023, CA17131, https://www.saga-cost.eu/working-group-3.php). Now I am affiliated at University of Hradec Králové at Department of Archaeology, leading sub-department and laboratory for environmental archaeology.
