About
My research focuses on patterns and dynamics of socio-economic inequalities in urban space and contributes to the understanding of phenomena such as segregation, access to urban opportunities via transport from the perspective of equity and justice, approaching matters of housing and urban deprivation from a systemic view, with links to public policies and service and housing provision programmes. It contributes to the empirical and theoretical knowledge on the links between housing and transport, as well as addresses methodological challenges for the identification, quantification, and mapping of inequalities in cities looking at different social dimensions such as race, ethnicity, income, education, and occupational classes. I have worked as an academic since 2005, with positions in Geographic Information Science and Urban / Human Geography. I am an active member of the international research community in Geographic Information/Data Science and Urban Studies and act as a reviewer to various renowned international journals as well as funding bodies.
