SAP ABAP Developer – OpenText xECM Integration (Contract) Department: DeliveryEmployment Type: ContractLocation: Canada RemoteReporting To: Director of DeliveryDescriptionEngagement Details Employment type: Temporary contract  Contract Duration: 6 months  Work Schedule: Full-Time, Start ASAP  Work Location: Canada Remote  Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada at the time of application.  SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled SAP ABAP Developer with deep experience in OpenText Extended ECM (xECM) integrations to design, build, and support robust SAP-side integration components. This role requires advanced ABAP development skills, a strong understanding of SAP technical architecture, and hands-on experience supporting business workspace creation, metadata synchronization, and document linkage between SAP and OpenText Content Server. Essential Functions Design and develop ABAP Objects including workspace property providers and document property providers using ABAP OO classes providing business context and data services  Design & Develop RFC-enabled Function Modules used by xECM, interfaces, BADI, User Exits, Enhancements etc.  Implement clean exception handling, logging, and return structures suitable for external system consumption.  Enhance standard SAP transactions and background processes to trigger workspace creation or updates  Understand and implement xECM interaction patterns for synchronous vs asynchronous calls Including error propagation and retry handling  Configure and troubleshoot SICF service activation and handler configuration, service bindings in SOAMANAGER, authentication and authorization for service users  Design and optimize background jobs related to xECM integrations  Debug complex SAP–OpenText issues using various tools including ABAP Debugger (external and background debugging, ST12 / ST05 performance traces , SICF, SOAMANAGER, and SRT_MONI analysis  Participate in technical design and architecture reviews.  Support development, SIT, UAT, cutover, and hypercare phases.  Produce detailed technical documentation for integration interfaces  Skills, Knowledge, and ExperienceExperience Required: 8–12+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.  3+ years supporting OpenText xECM or SAP–OpenText integrations.  Proven experience working in large, complex SAP landscapes (ECC and/or S/4HANA).  Experience with OpenText VIM or other SAP-integrated OpenText products  SAP ABAP or OpenText certifications are a plus.
