Description Contribute your expertise, skills, and experience as an Project Engineer by joining our KDM Engineering team. KDM is a growing, award-winning, minority- and woman-owned professional engineering firm focusing on electric, gas, site civil, and telecommunications engineering designs and support services.KDM is looking for a Project Engineer with 5 – 7 years of experience (ComEd preferred) of Overhead or Underground utilities distribution. This position includes performing engineering tasks on multiple small to medium sized projects with a moderate level of technical difficulty; coordinating and completing complex distribution designs independently, managing a team of engineers, and giving a complete QA/QC check on other designer’s projects.Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 per yearResponsibilities include:Applying sound engineering knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of project assignmentsDeveloping contacts with key engineers and officials in other organizations to confirm that engineering practices applied are consistent with current engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and current technological innovationsDeveloping and maintaining quality relationships with clientsLeads projects and project team in the execution of several mid-to-large scale projectsCommunicates and coordinates project activities with internal team membersPerform Quality Assurance (QA) design reviews and Peer Reviews for all project documentsPerforms peer reviews and mentors project team membersAssists in the preparation of scoping documents and feesPrepares and reviews project drawings in TEDResolves design questions and technical concernsProvides excellent client/customer serviceWill be managing a team of 3 – 4 engineers*PE license preferredRequirements:Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university or equivalent technical degree5 – 7 years minimum of experience with Distribution Design, ComEd experience preferredKnowledge of industry codes and standardsAbility to interface effectively with clients, employees, and management team is essentialMotivated to continually take on more responsibility and lead the teamCollaborative approach to problem solving Strong communication skillsAdditional Requirements:Must be willing to comply with all pre-employment screening, including but not limited to, drug testing, reference verification, education and employment verification and background screeningMust be legally authorized to work in the U.S.Possess a valid Driver’s LicenseHybrid work schedule in our Chicago officeWhy Choose KDM?Established in 2012 on a promise to alter the face of engineering, KDM Engineering has built a reputation of excellence in providing outstanding technical services, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality assurance, and offering a truly inclusive work environment.Our clients and partners in the public and private sectors consistently recognize KDM for our responsiveness to their needs, budgets, and schedules.
