QA Automation & Implementation Engineer

Seeking a QA Automation Engineer to manage the testing lifecycle for our YACHTWAVE web and mobile apps. Unlike traditional QA roles, we will provide the Playwright scripts. Your primary responsibility is to take these scripts, refine them for production-ready stability, implement them into Better Stack, and ensure our automation suite runs reliably every single week. Key Responsibilities Script Implementation: Receive AI-generated Playwright scripts from the team and deploy them into the testing environment. Optimization & Refinement: Review provided scripts to ensure they are robust, handle wait times correctly, and function within the Better Stack ecosystem. Better Stack Orchestration: Set up and manage the Better Stack (formerly Checkly/Uptime) environment to trigger these automated tests. Weekly Automation Management: Ensure the entire suite runs on a weekly schedule. You are responsible for the "green light"—if a test fails due to a script error or an app bug, you identify which it is and fix/report accordingly. Continuous Updates: As the application evolves, you will update existing implementations to match new UI changes. Exploratory (Ad-hoc) Testing: Perform manual "monkey testing" sessions to identify edge cases, UX issues, or bugs that automation might not catch. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Integration: Proven experience implementing Playwright scripts into monitoring platforms (Better Stack experience is a major plus). Debugging Skills: Ability to troubleshoot why a script failed and refine AI-generated code for 100% reliability. Process-Oriented: Highly organized individual who can manage a growing library of test cases without letting "flaky tests" persist. Exploratory Testing: A "breaker" mindset—someone who enjoys manually clicking through an app to find what the automation missed. Communication: Daily check-ins are required. You must be able to clearly communicate status updates and bug reports. Work Logistics Location: 100% Remote.
