VPP Jr Field Service Engineer

Position Summary: The VPP Jr. Field Engineer is the technical field account representative and device troubleshooting expert for the sonnen family of products. While working primarily in the field, our Jr. Project Engineers must have a deep understanding of the sonnen product, its application in the field, and how to resolve problems with hardware and software related errors. In addition, the Jr. Field Engineer will perform project and partner management tasks as well as support functions on VPP sites assigned. Under the direction of their direct supervisor, the VPP Jr. Field Engineer will be responsible for implementing strategies and resolutions related to field technical services and accounts. This is a travel required position within the Utah and western areas of the US, with up to 75% of daily time in the field and traveling. On site, the VPP Jr. Field Engineer will assist with technical training, system design implementation, system installations, problem troubleshooting, and emphasis on task resolutions.  Key Responsibilities: Travel to visit partners throughout Utah and California with light duties throughout the rest of the western United States Support internal team with technical training, installation and design support, and system troubleshootingResolve technical cases assigned by the engineer’s direct supervisor, using all available tools to solve problems and maintain high customer satisfactionAnswer incoming phone calls and email from our partners, support the inside operational staff, guiding them to resolve issues, and providing general supportProject related management duties on assigned sitesMaintain key documentation as it relates to projects and ongoing activitiesMaintain relationships with our Sales Engineering team to ensure growing product expertise and escalation support as requiredUtilize Salesforce and other designated tools to document relevant call activity to ensure proper data capture, issue tracking, and customer-specific activitiesOther duties as necessary to ensure high quality, proactive, customer focused service Qualifications: 2+ years of technical product experience within solar, batteries, electronics, or technology industries2+ years of experience in residential / commercial construction industries, emphasis on project management and partner support Strong oral and written skills and interpersonal communication skills Must have direct, hands-on experience working with power electronics and/or electrical installationsProven track record in team management and time bound, high quality production projects"Problem Solver" mentality. Someone who loves to understand and resolve difficult problemsHighly organized with the ability to clearly convey thoughts, schedules, generate reports, and update the team as requiredAbility to understand complicated technical information and communicate such information to non-expertsEnthusiasm, creativity, and a desire to learnIntelligent, accountable, and self-assured mentality with a strong work ethic.  Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business or technical related fieldStrong interests in technology, renewable energy, and/or energy storage
