Juan Carlos López-Gutiérrez holds a bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in Philosophy and History, as well as an MBA and a doctorate in Education Sciences. Over the course of more than 24 years, he has forged his professional trajectory immersed in teaching and university management, serving as a teacher and researcher in various universities in Cuba, Venezuela, Spain, France, and Ecuador. His experience includes coordinating international training projects in collaboration with the United States, Spain, and France. In the governmental sphere, he served as an advisor at the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba and held prominent roles as academic director of universities and official of the Council of Higher Education (CES) in Ecuador. Juan Carlos has also supervised third-level theses, master's, and doctoral programs, establishing himself as a faculty member in master's and doctoral programs. His prolific academic work is evident in the publication of over forty scientific articles in indexed journals and the authorship of nine books. His active participation in scientific and editorial committees of various indexed journals is a testament to his commitment to academic excellence. His research areas encompass scientific research in the social sciences and education, higher education didactics, university management, social innovation, and the teaching of social sciences, among other relevant topics. Additionally, he is a founding member of the Ecuadorian Society of Social Studies of Science and Technology. Currently, Juan Carlos López-Gutiérrez holds the position of Academic Director at the Instituto Superior Tecnológico de Investigación Científica e Innovación (ISTICI) in Ecuador.
