Khaled Aboalez

About

Prof. Khaled Aboalez has been an associate professor at the Postgraduate School of Engineering Management at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) since March 2024. He has been an NRF-C3-rated researcher since January 2020. He received his PhD degree from Mansoura University, Egypt, in 2011. He was a post-doc fellow at the National Hub for Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management and the Centre of New Energy Systems (CNES) at the University of Pretoria, South Africa (Mar. 2012 – Feb. 2013). He was also a post-doc fellow at the Centre for Substation Automation and Energy Management Systems (CSAEMS), Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), South Africa (Mar. 2015 – Oct. 2016). He was a senior lecturer at CPUT from January 2017- Sept. 2021. From October 2021 to February 2024, he was an Associate Professor of Electrical Power Systems and the head of the Centre for Research in Power Systems at CPUT.
