About
I am a mechatronics expert in the development of augmented, pervasive inspection/sensing systems. My research specialises in the design of integrated (ASIC), resource-efficient (e.g. low power, versatile) electronics for sensing applications in portable/autonomous cyber-physical and mechatronic systems, like autonomous devices for battery-less and IoT applications. Based at the Engineering Systems Design and Innovation (ESDI) group, I lead research on smart manufacturing and optimisation based on advanced sensing and digital technology fusion, including Digital Twins (DTs). My latest work includes the development of innovative DT-based optimisation frameworks and methods, where I leverage my DT research developments and mechatronics expertise to enable the superior technological capability (e.g., inspection, control, etc.) required in the next generation of smart factories and systems.
