Moana Soto

About

Moana Soto is an expert in museum education, expography and development of museum projects, through Sociomuseology. PhD and Master in Museology from the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies, specializing in Education and Museums from the European University Miguel de Cervantes and a degree in Pedagogy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Museologist and Museum Educator, she is head of the Education Center of the National Historical Museum of Brazil. She is researcher at the UNESCO-ULHT Chair in Education, Citizenship and Cultural Diversity; associate researcher at the Fundão Territory, Mobility and Heritage Studies Center; researcher at Grupo Salamanca de Investigación en Museos y Patrimonio Iberoamericano - GSIM; researcher at Museum Education: Concepts, History and Policies Group - GPEM. Winner of two Ibermuseus Education Awards (2018 and 2020). Among other entities, she is a member of the International Movement for a New Museology - MINOM-ICOM; the Paulo Freire Portugal Institute; the Network of Museum Educators in Brazil; the Portuguese Association for Culture and Permanent Education - APCEP; and the Latin American and Caribbean Campaign in Defense of Paulo Freire's Legacy.
