About
My experience in carrying out research began in 2015 and spent a year as a research student in a cell culture lab as part of my Master’s program at the Institute of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology (IBMBB), University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. My major focus was on evaluating the cytotoxic and anti-proliferative effects of medicinal plant extracts on various cancer, embryonic, and cancer stem cell lines. Since then, I had been dedicated several independent study credits to this lab. Later I joined as a lecturer at the ICBT campus as I have always been passionate about sharing knowledge. Since then, I have worked at few well renowned educational institutions in Srilanka, as a lecturer, program leader, head of the department, and program coordinator. Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Drug Discovery at the Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery, Griffith University, focusing on developing recombinant nanoparticle-based vaccine candidates against widespread diseases.
