Pedzisai Kowe

About

Dr. Pedzisai Kowe is an Environmental Scientist, Urban Geographer, Urban climate and health scientist, landscape ecology nd Geoinformation and Earth Observation researcher. Dr. Pedzisai Kowe integrates field observations, geospatial technologies, remote sensing, advanced machine and deep learning algorithms and ecological modelling to understand the urban climate, structure of urban socio-ecological systems, and its link to ecological function. His research interest includes climate change and health, linking vector borne diseases and climate change, urban growth and heat islands mapping and monitoring, green spaces and vegetation fragmentation analysis in African cities using spatial statistics, statistical modelling, discrete and continuous methods. Pedzisai Kowe has trained and worked with leading organizations in Zimbabwe, Africa, and Europe in using information provided by Earth observation satellites and geospatial technologies for managing climate risks, disaster management and land use, urban planning, and management.
