Peter Krajčovič

About

I am working as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Mass Media Communication of the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava. I finished my studies in the field of media studies, master (2012) and PhD. degree (2016). My research activity is specialised in two main areas: media market research and the use of media to raise awareness of eco-innovations. I have been systematically working on media market research since 2013, when he started my Ph.D. studies. In my dissertation, I investigated the reasons for using print media for marketing communication and the factors that influence the sale of advertising space in print media. After defending my dissertation, I continued my research on the advertising media market and broadened his focus to other types of media. In particular, I have focused on issues such as media planning, the influence of selected factors on advertising effectiveness and innovative forms of media advertising space. Since 2016, I have been systematically researching the use of media to increase awareness of eco-innovations. In particular, I explore the assumptions and possibilities of using different types and forms of media for marketing communication and raising awareness of eco-innovation. Both areas of research are the focus of several scientific projects that I have worked on or I am currently working on within VEGA and APVV projects. Due to the current pandemic and the topicality of the issue, I am also focusing my scientific research activities on the area of disinformation and fake news in the media. I have been working on these topics as part of the international research project HORIZON 2020: MediaDelcom (Critical Exploration of Media Related Risks and Opportunities for Deliberative Communication: Development Scenarios Of The European Media Landscape), a university-wide project within the Operational Programme Integrated Infrastructure - Addressing Societal Threats Due To The COVID-19 Disease Pandemic and the CEDMO (Central European Digital Media Observatory) project, co-funded by the European Commission in the call THE CONNECTING EUROPE FACILITY (CEF) - TELECOMMUNICATIONS SECTOR - CEF-TC-2020-2 (European Digital Media Observatory), Ref.: 2020-EU-IA-0267). I am also responsible for the faculty communication with the media, preparing press releases, media analysis and developing PR strategies for selected events and conferences. I carry out various analyses and media outputs aimed at strengthening the faculty PR. I am a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal Communication Today, a member of the Czech Marketing Society, the Club of Marketing Teachers, POPAI Central Europe and the European Social Marketing Association, as well as a member of the council of the Media Relations study programme at the Faculty of Mass Media Communication at the UCM in Trnava. In addition to the above activities, I also participate in the project of the Research Centre of the FMK UCM in Trnava MethodLab, where I work as a project manager. I currently have 8 outputs in Web of Science Core Collection publications and h-index of 3. I have participated in several national and international scientific conferences.
