Ruifeng Cao

About

Dr. Ruifeng (Ray) Cao received an M.D. from the Fourth Military Medical University in China and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Ohio State University. Dr. Cao has worked on the brain circadian clock in mammalian models since when he was a graduate student in Dr. Karl Obrietan’s laboratory. As a postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Cao studied mRNA translation control mechanisms in the circadian clock with Drs. Nahum Sonenberg and Shimon Amir at McGill University. He is currently an associate professor of neuroscience and chronobiology at Rutgers University. His research is focused on molecular signaling mechanisms underlying circadian neurophysiology and dysfunction in psychiatric disorders.
