Shahboz Babaev

About

Shahboz Babaev is a researcher and economist currently pursuing a PhD at the Technological University of Shannon, Ireland. He also serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Tashkent State University of Economics. He holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University Malaysia Perlis (2014) and a master’s degree in Business from the Athlone Institute of Technology, Ireland (2016). His research focuses on poverty, economic development, sustainability, tourism, and foreign direct investment. Shahboz is multilingual, with proficiency in English, Russian, Uzbek, Arabic, Tajik, and basic knowledge of Malay and Chinese. Recognised for his commitment and excellence, Shahboz has received prestigious awards, including the TUS’s President Doctoral Scholarship and the RUN-EU International RDI Mobility Programme 2021-2022 at the Polytechnic of Leiria in Portugal. He is a member of the TUS Tourism Innovation Research Group (TIRG) and a collaborator at the Centre for Tourism Research, Development and Innovation (CiTUR), Portugal. Shahboz is also an active member of the Development Studies Association Ireland (DSAI), where he engages in discussions and debates on development-related issues and shares his research with like-minded individuals. His accomplishments in teaching and research have demonstrated his dedication and commitment to his field of research.
