Tao Wang

About

Tao Wang is a Hallsworth Research Fellow in Chinese Political Economy at the University of Manchester. His research lies at the intersection of informal institutions, political representation and public opinion, with a regional focus on East Asia. His current work centres on (1) how the informal rule of guanxi affects constituency service in Taiwan; and (2) Chinese public opinion, specifically on Taiwan and cross-strait relations, along with an ongoing project about Chinese public opinion towards the war in Ukraine. His research has been published in Foreign Affairs, Journal of Contemporary China, World Affairs and etc.
