About
Tatiana Teixeira de Sousa completed her PhD in Occupational Safety and Health at the University of Porto in July 2024. She earned her Master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health Engineering on July 15, 2020, from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, and her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health in July 2018 from the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, School of Health. She is a researcher at INEGI - Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, where she has participated in several research projects in the field of Human Factors. Her areas of expertise include work physiology, occupational health, and ergonomics. She also has experience in quality, environment, and safety management systems, as well as in providing external occupational health services across various sectors, including industry, health and care sector. In parallel, Tatiana drives her research in quality, environmental, and safety management systems, as well as in providing occupational health services across different sectors, including the health and care sector. Tatiana has been participating in several projects developing methodologies and systems capable of monitoring the physiological responses of workers, on an individual basis, relative to operational conditions, using real-time collected data, and thus transforming such information into comprehensive health description of workers. She has authored scientific articles examining workers' responses to occupational conditions and task demands, with a particular focus on extreme environments, such as firefighting. Additionally, she has actively participated in numerous conferences and contributed to their organization.
