Tracy Collins

About

Tracy is a registered Occupational Therapist with practice experience in the UK and USA, predominantly working with older people in the community. Prior to joining Northumbria University in 2017, Tracy worked at the University of Salford for 11 years teaching on the Occupational Therapy undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and the Dementia postgraduate programme. Tracy’s research has focused on social capital, later life widowhood, community engagement, living well with dementia and the prevention of loneliness and social isolation. She has experience in conducting qualitative longitudinal research and in utilising multiple methods and secondary data. Tracy is an experienced MSc and PhD supervisor and examiner. She also regularly acts as a peer reviewer for academic journals and research grant funders; and serves as Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Women & Aging, and Health and Social Care in the Community.
