About

I am physiological ecologist – I study how organisms work and link this with broader ecosystem functions primarily using mesocosm laboratory experiments in conjunction with statistical modelling. Most of my work looks at characterising spatial and temporal variation in traits such as metabolism and growth in marine invertebrates and constraining the innate and external mechanisms that underpin this variation. I am also interested in understanding how the direct and indirect effects of climate change impact organisms mediated biogeochemical processes and associated ecosystem services in benthic coastal habitats.
