Vladimíra Hladíková serves as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Mass Media Communication at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava where she also earned her master’s degree. Further advancing her academic pursuits, she earned her PhDr in 2017 and PhD in 2018 in the study program mass media communication at the same institution. Additionally, she holds a postgraduate degree in Executive Management from the EDU Effective Business School. Within her research endeavors, she delves into the realm of new and digital media, with a particular focus on the Internet and social media, exploring their intricate impact across various aspects of life. Her work extends to examining cognitive changes and related processes influenced by the use of digital media. The reflection on the impact and utilization of information and communication technologies in education constitutes another area of her research, where she addresses issues within the information and educational society. She places particular emphasis on topics concerning the opportunities and, especially, the risks associated with communication in the virtual environment. Additionally, she explores strategies for actively protecting against these phenomena and delves into matters related to safe and responsible media use. Her scientific and personal interests are reflected in an interdisciplinary approach to investigating these phenomena. Currently, she is leading a project funded by the Cultural and Educational Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Academy of Sciences, titled “Risks and Opportunities of (Online) Education in the Time of Technological Interference” (2023 – 2025). Furthermore, she has authored and co-authored numerous scientific papers, peer-reviewed studies, and various other scientific, pedagogical, and professional contributions. She serves on the editorial board of the scientific journals “European Journal of Media, Art & Photography” and “Media Literacy and Academic Research”, both registered in internationally recognized databases. Additionally, she is a member of the professional team at IMEC – International Center for Media Literacy at the Faculty of Mass Media Communication, University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava. Furthermore, she acts as an external expert evaluator for KEGA projects, reviews submissions for various scientific and professional journals both domestically and internationally. She participates in the expert group for the National Concept of Child Protection in the Digital Space, established by the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, and Family of the Slovak Republic. Moreover, she is a member of the Media Literacy+ platform under the Council for Media Services of the Slovak Republic. Beyond her academic and teaching responsibilities, she collaborates actively with several professional organizations, serving as a mentor, participating in expert commissions, and evaluating media outputs, particularly in the domains of media ecology, media ethics, and online security.
