About
• Psychiatrist for the Asylum Seekers and Refugees Clinic (SHIFA clinic) Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust from April 2022-January 2024: I set up and ran a specialist clinic for asylum seekers and refugees in Norfolk. I started these clinics voluntarily in 2018 but stopped during the COVID-19 pandemic (from 2020-2022). In 2022, these clinics were formally set up as part of the Advancing Mental Health Equalities (AMHE) of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Norwich. UK) since June 2017. I lead a multidisciplinary team of community psychiatric nurses, psychologists, memory assessment nurses, memory treatment nurses, and junior doctors covering GP surgeries in the south part of Norwich city. I provide medical input to the care of older patients (those aged 70 years and above) with dementia and mental health problems and also younger patients with early-onset dementia. • Honorary Associate Professor (Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK). I provide input into medical students' training and am also involved in the interview process for MBBS candidates. I am also a clinical and educational supervisor to junior doctors (GP trainees and Core Psychiatry Trainees). • I also have other educational and training roles, including an Examiner to the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Clinical Assessment of Skill and Applied Knowledge (CASC), an Appraiser in Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust and Interview Panel Member for the UK Higher Training Scheme in Psychiatry.
