Zahra Gholami

About

Zahra is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Higher Education program at Florida State University. Her dissertation explores the factors influencing the career decision-making processes of students in STEM fields. In addition to her doctoral work at FSU, she holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Kharazmi University, where she specialized in higher education policy and university-industry collaboration. Her expertise encompasses quantitative and mixed-methods research, large-scale national datasets (IPEDS, BPS, HSLS), and interdisciplinary approaches to higher education reform. Her scholarly interests include institutional change, STEM education and career pathways, and policy studies. As a graduate research assistant on projects such as the NSF ADVANCE Adaptation Project, she has contributed to initiatives designed to enhance women faculty recruitment and retention in STEM. Committed to bridging research and practice, she aims to lead higher education policy and research efforts that foster inclusive academic environments and broaden access to academic and career pathways in STEM.
