Ana Vale Pereira
About
Ana Vale Pereira has a PhD in Educational Sciences from the University of Porto in 2003. She is an invited assistant professor in the master’s in educational sciences and the master’s in media and information literacy and digital citizenship at the Lusófona University - Porto University Centre. Since 2016, she has been an integrated researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Education and Development (CeiED) at Lusófona University. She was a researcher of the Erasmus + Family-based Open Science Schooling Project - Ref: 2019-1-FI01-KA201-060724 (2019 to 2021). Her career as a researcher began in 2008, under the programme contract funded by FCT Science 2008, at the University of Porto, at the Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE), a partner of CLACSO - Latin American Council of Social Sciences. Since then, his professional activity has mainly focused on research and higher education. Her research interests focus on educational sciences, especially adult education, and training; qualitative research in education; public education policies; and teaching and learning methodologies in higher education, topics that have been the focus of studies carried out in collaboration with different researchers and that are in line with her publications. She has co-authored several publications in national and international journals, book chapters, and an e-book. She was an expert in the External School Evaluation Teams of the Inspectorate General of Education (IGEC). She has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the Ibero-American Congress of Qualitative Research - CIAIQ since 2016, and a member of the Editorial Board (ad hoc reviewers) of the Qualitative Research Journal, São Paulo, Brazil. She has been active in adult education, most recently in 2019 and 2020 as co-coordinator and trainer of the innovative teaching methodology courses for teachers at the Lusófona University - Porto University Centre. She has been a trainer of courses in qualitative data analysis using NVIVO software, since 2001, having led training courses for postgraduate students at the FPCEUP - Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto, and for the Continuous Training Office of the FPCEUP.
