Anthea Amadi-Echendu
About
Anthea Amadi-Echendu is an associate professor in the Department of Operations Management at the University of South Africa. She publishes in areas concerned with operations management in the context of land administration, food systems, and crowd logistics. She is a founding member and director of the Society of Operations Management in Africa, which focuses on advancing the discipline of operations management. She has co-authored various publications and is actively involved with postgraduate supervision, having graduated a number of postgraduate students. Her research led her to become part of a socio-economic impact study that was commissioned by Parliament in 2016 before the Electronic Deeds Registration System (EDRS) Bill was approved. She has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the World Food Programme and is currently conducting research in the area of food systems. She is a founding member of the African Operations Management Conference (AOMC) that first took place in 2017. Anthea has successfully chaired AOMC and International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM) conferences in South Africa.
