Atahan Demirkol
About
Atahan Demirkol holds a PhD in Political Science & Public Administration from Afyon Kocatepe University (Türkiye), an MSc in Urban Policy Planning from Middle East Technical University (Türkiye), and a BA in Political Science & Public Administration from Gazi University (Türkiye). He has several published articles, including in the Public Administration Review (PAR), Sustainable Development, International Migration, Teaching Public Administration, Journal of Public Affairs Education, and Migration Letters journals. He has done several reviews for journals, such as Applied Economics Letters, European Review, Cogent Social Sciences, and the University of Bologna Law Review He mostly employs critical perspectives or theories in his research to explore quantitative or qualitative links among international migration, urban, and policy. He is currently a research assistant & faculty member at Afyon Kocatepe University (Türkiye) Department of Political Science and Public Administration. He also serves as a co-editor at Refuge: Canada's Journal on Refugees, the Editor-in-Chief of the Turkish Journal of Sense of Place and Urban Studies, and the Editorial Assistant at KOCATEPEIIBFD Journal. He has been to Koç University Migration Research Center (MiReKoç) as a visiting fellow and Erasmus+ staff exchange participant at the Centre of Migration Research (CMR) at the University of Warsaw, Syracuse University for an Academic Language Course, and the University of Economics in Bratislava for an Erasmus+ exchange as a Ph.D. candidate.
