About
I am an Associate Professor of Philosophy of Education at the Wits School of Education, University of the Witwatersrand. I completed my PhD in Philosophy at the University of Auckland and thereafter took up a postdoctoral fellowship in the University of Johannesburg’s Philosophy Department. My research interests are broadly in Philosophy of Education and African Philosophy of Education. My background is in Continental Philosophy, particularly Phenomenology and Hermeneutics, and I am interested in how these traditions can inform and develop Philosophy of Education. At the moment I am doing work in Inclusive Education and also Decolonisation. I am also a fellow with the African Centre for the Study of the United States, based at the University of the Witwatersrand, and managing editor of the South African Journal of Philosophy.
