Feras Mahmoud Awaysheh, hold a Ph.D. in Big Data and Cloud Computing from the University of Santiago de Compostela (CiTIUS), in the Big Data and Supercomputing research group since 2015. He obtained MSc with honors in computer networks and information security from New York Institute of technology. His main research interest includes large-scale distributed systems and BD analytics in general. Besides, developing parallel and distributed algorithms for resource allocation on-premises and cloud-based clusters. Also, the development of frameworks and middlewares for load-balancing in Grid, Cloud, and BD deployment architectures. Recently, he had invited as a reviewer for many JCR journals in the field of parallel and distributed systems, as for Cluster computing and Future Generation Computer Systems. Apart from that, he recognizes himself as an outgoing person. His hobbies include mountain hiking and rock climbing. These activities helped him understand better how to face critical situations, where he needs to advance with unflinching determination and taught him that to reach higher peaks; he needed to follow his heart sometimes and considered all the paths to the top.
