About
I am an Assistant Teaching Professor (Ph.D.) at Northeastern University in Boston since 2023. My research and teaching interests focus on sociolinguistics, linguistic attitudes, language contact and variation, dialectology and bilingualism, both in Spanish and in Basque. Originally from the Basque Country, I completed my B.A. in English Studies at Universidad de Salamanca (2016), an M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics at Illinois State University (2018), and I also hold an M.S. in Hispanic Linguistics at Georgetown University (2020). Finally I completed a Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics at Georgetown University (2023; NSF funded dissertation). During my B.A., I completed a 10 month study abroad program at Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) during my third year of the B.A (2014-2015). In my teaching experience, I was the Assistant Director in the Spanish Language Program for the Intermediate level (2020-2022) at Georgetown. Apart from teaching different Spanish level and content classes, I also created and designed the Intro to Basque course (Fall 2019 & Fall 2022), a course that was not offered at Georgetown University since 1997. I also have ample experience working in the Georgetown at Barcelona summer study abroad program during two summers (2019 & 2022). Finally, I have been involved at Georgetown as the co-chair for the Spanish and Portuguese Department's annual conference GRAPHSY 2021 (I was Junior Co-Chair for GRAPHSY 2020), the founder of the Basque Coffee Hour (Euskeraren ordua) since 2018, and the ex-vice president of GSPSO (Graduate Spanish and Portuguese Student Organization) in 2019-2020.
