About
"Glory After Every Fall" perfectly encapsulates both my past accomplishments and my vision for future successes. My journey is a testament to the power of enthusiasm, excitement, passion, commitment, and, above all, optimism. It began in 2000, when I faced the disappointment of being denied admission to medical school—a setback that initially seemed to dash my hopes of fulfilling my parents' dream for me to earn the title "Dr." Despite this early setback, I went on to achieve remarkable successes: I earned a Gold Medal in both my B.A. and M.A. in English Literature from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan, in 2005. I was one of just four candidates from across Pakistan awarded the prestigious HEC scholarship in 2007. I completed my M.A. in Applied Linguistics at Sussex University, UK, in 2008, and concluded my Ph.D. studies with a thesis praised as "a quality piece of work" by the external examiner in 2012 at Sussex University, UK. These achievements have instilled in me a sense of humility and modesty while simultaneously fueling my enthusiasm and commitment to excel further in both research and teaching. I firmly believe in the symbiotic relationship between an individual's success and the prestige of their affiliated institution. Throughout my career, I have endeavored to elevate the institutions I have been a part of—highlighting the University of Sindh in my Ph.D. thesis and promoting Sussex University globally as an international student ambassador and researcher. My dedication continued at Sukkur IBA University, where I began as an Assistant Professor and founding head of the Department of Education. Over 11 years, I advanced to Associate and then Full Professor, leading the department's evolution into a faculty under my guidance and eventually being appointed the inaugural Dean. Throughout this remarkable journey, I have steadfastly served as a dedicated ambassador for Sukkur IBA University, championing its values and achievements across every conceivable platform. My commitment to promoting the university's excellence has been unwavering, whether through academic conferences, publications, or collaborative partnerships. This loyalty stems from a deep belief in the transformative power of education that Sukkur IBA University embodies. In 2023, I embarked on a new chapter as the Dean of the Faculty of Language Studies at Sohar University in Oman, a role that promises exciting opportunities to contribute to a prestigious institution. This move to Oman marks the continuation of a journey characterized by resilience, achievement, and an unwavering commitment to fostering educational excellence.
