Junio Aglioti Colombini

About

Junio Aglioti Colombini, who holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Pisa, is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Political Science at the same institution. Their research interests lie at the intersection of political communication, participatory processes and new media. They have a particular focus on the 'memification' of the digital public sphere, which was also the topic of their doctoral research. They approach these topics through a queer and feminist research lens, informing their analysis of power structures, representation and identity in the digital era. Their current work explores the evolution and transformation of pop politics, and the dynamics of polarisation and disinformation within media and political systems, particularly in relation to light entertainment and the use of memes as cultural and ideological instruments.
