About
Luciana is a Fulbright Scholar and doctoral candidate in Public Health at the University of Nevada, Reno, entering her final year. Her interdisciplinary research bridges public health, law, and political science, focusing on the policymaking and regulatory processes surrounding tobacco control. She critically examines tobacco industry strategies, including corporate social responsibility narratives and the marketing of “natural” and “organic” tobacco products. Her research scope has recently expanded to include cannabis regulation, particularly its intersection with tobacco-related behaviors and public attitudes. During her PhD program, Luciana has contributed to two NIH-funded studies that explore the evolving landscape of substance use and public health regulation. Together, these projects reflect Luciana’s commitment to advancing regulatory science and public policy that protect population health by shaping more informed and equitable health behaviors.
