Vittorio Remo Danovi

Vittorio Remo Danovi is a Postdoctoral Fellow of Research Ireland based at the University of Galway. He holds a BA and an MA in Classics from the University of Bologna, a PGDip in Humanities from the Collegio Superiore of the University of Bologna, and a DPhil in Classical Languages and Literature from the University of Oxford. He specialises in Latin textual criticism. Most recently, his research has been focusing on the tradition of Vergilian exegesis between Late Antiquity and the Early Modern Period. His doctoral thesis analysed the transmission of the seventh-century commentary on Vergil known as Seruius auctus or DS scholia. His current project is entitled ‘Irish readings of Vergil: the Philargyrian corpus and its medieval reception’.
